If you aren’t a guru then you may (like me) find keyword research difficult. Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. Most of what I find are useless though.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.

The keyword data you see will be out of date and wrong. But it will have been spot on at some time. I accidentally discovered the answer to that puzzle.

I decided to go for a keyword with about five thousand competing pages. I was feeling confident enough to rank well with this one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I started to think thinks weren’t going to be easy as I thought. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

What I’m saying is that I would have left it alone had I saw over 9000 competing sites. Turns out I was competing mostly against myself as my article was the cause of these sites ranking. A nice situation to be in!

Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.

Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Let’s face it, Travis is THE bum marketer. Bum marketing is something I really like.

If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

All the big marketers bang on about outsourcing. I see this as nothing more than that. I’m paying someone else to research my keywords. I reckon that’s outsourcing.

If you want to hear about my trial of the Instacash service get yourself over to my website. Earlier I mentioned that I ended up with thousands of articles on websites for a certain keyword. I’ll show you how I did that at my site.
